John J. Hynes age 66 of Canton passed away suddenly July 13th. Born in Boston, he attended Catholic Memorial High School and Stonehill College. He worked as an Administrator for M.I.T. for over 44 years. John has lived in Canton for the last 28 years. He was an active member of St. Gerard Majella Church where he was a Eucharistic Minister, a member of the choir, an active member of the Church Youth Group and Outreach Program and was also an active member of the Voice of the Faithful. He also worked raising money for Stonehill College’s Endowment. Beloved husband of Deborah W. (Welsh). Father of Erin M. of Orlando, FL & Sean R. Hynes of Canton. Brother of Maureen B. Hynes of Milton. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home 455 Washington St. Canton Friday 4-8 pm. Funeral mass at St. Gerard Majella Church Canton Saturday morning at 10. Interment Canton Corner Cemetery. John was a 44 year employee of M.I.T. and an active member of the Voice of the Faithful. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to “Our Neighbors in Need” c/o St. Gerard Majella Church 1860 Washington St. Canton, MA 02021.
