Janet K. (Falk) Watson, age 71, of Mansfield, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Needham. She was the beloved wife of George A. Watson, to whom she was wed for forty-two years.
Born in Frederic, Wisconsin on April 28, 1951, she was a loving daughter of the late Maynard and Beulah (Jauken) Falk.
Janet grew up and was educated in Nebraska and Kansas. She was a graduate of Rolla High School and continued her studies, receiving a bachelor’s degree from Ottawa University and a master’s degree from the University of Kansas.
A resident of Mansfield for the past forty-two years, Janet was a retired Home Economics Teacher and an Administrator at Walpole High School and Whitman-Hanson Regional High School. Following her career as an educator and raising her family, she was the proud and talented owner of the Janet Watson Custom Window Designs.
Her family was always the focal point of her life and her second love was music. She loved singing in the choir at Saint Mark’s Church in Attleboro Falls, spending time at her second home in Costa Rica, cooking and interior design.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her devoted sons: Marcus S. Watson and his wife Shannon of Lakeville, Minnesota and Michael L. Watson and his wife Jessie of North Andover, MA. She was the cherished grandmother of Sidney and Brynn. She was the dear sister of Beverly Rowland and her husband David of Iowa and is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend a service, in celebration of her life, on Thursday, September 8th at 5:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main Street, Mansfield. Burial will be private.
