Sharon Thompson Lord, 52, of Fitzgerald passed away Sunday, February 9, 2020 at her residence.
Sharon was born on February 9, 1968 in Tifton to Samuel S. Thompson, Jr. and the late Coleta Loper Thompson. She was a third grade teacher at Turner County Elementary School in Ashburn. Teaching was Mrs. Lord's passion. She cared deeply for each child she taught. She had a gift that was truly one of a kind for her students. She was a loving mother, daughter but most importantly, a loving grandmother to Easton, Sawyer and Avery. She also loved to bake. Her cakes were enjoyed by everyone who tasted them. She is survived by her daughters, Christin (Clint) Holley of Tifton and Rachel (Ron) Elizondo of Tifton; son, Cory (Jessica) Lord of High Point, North Carolina; sister, Belinda (Mike) Orzada of Newark, Delaware; grandchildren, Easton Holley, Sawyer Thompson Lord and Avery Holley. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, February 14, 2020 at the Turner County Civic Center. The family will greet friends immediately following the service. | ||||
