Richard A. Wright, Jr., age 85 of Mansfield, MA. Devoted husband of Margaret (Smith) Wright with whom he shared 60 years of marriage. Loving father of Richard Alec Wright & his wife Kathleen Kee of Norfolk, MA and Elizabeth Wright Davis & her husband Daniel of Sharon, MA. “Dick” was predeceased by his sister, Virginia Trautwein of Portsmouth, RI and brothers Robert of SC & Paul of MA. He leaves his brothers Harry of FL & Thomas of SC and dozens of nieces & nephews. Born May 28, 1933 in Boston, Dick graduated from Roxbury Memorial High School. He served as Sergeant in the Army Corps of Engineers stationed in Panama during the Korean War and was Chief of the firefighting unit at Fort Amador. Dick later became a union printer, working as a pressman & proofreader for various commercial printing companies including George H. Dean Co. in Boston. He loved to play hockey and baseball with his brothers & son and served as official and unofficial coach to countless children. Donations in his memory may be made to the Roxbury YMCA, 285 M.L.K. Blvd, Roxbury, MA 02119. A celebration of Dick’s life will be planned shortly with all friends & family invited to join in remembrance of this fine man.
