BARDEN, Philip V. III of West Roxbury on December 9, 2021, died unexpectedly at 58 years old. Phil retired in May after a 36 year career as a Boston Police Officer. Phil was the beloved husband of Maureen (Naughton), devoted and loving father of Philip Vincent IV and the dedicated son of Philip V. Barden Jr. and the late Ann M. (Furden) Barden who lovingly received him on Thursday. Phil is survived by his siblings Michael Barden (BPD) (Jacki) of Hyde Park, Theresa Barden and Katherine Shannon of West Roxbury. Brother-in-law of Adam Shannon. Phil was the son-in-law of Barbara Naughton of Norwood and the late Martin Naughton. Brother-in-law of Barbara Needham (Mark) of West Roxbury, Terry Shaker (Bill) of Norwood and the late Christopher Naughton. Loving uncle of Leslie, Emily, Karen and Jack Barden of Hyde Park, Grace, Michael and Ann Shannon of West Roxbury, Mary Needham of West Roxbury and Emily and Kevin Shaker of Norwood. Phil was the nephew of Margaret Curran (Richard) of West Roxbury, Eugene Furden of Maine, the late John Furden and Daniel Furden. Cousin of Richard Curran Jr., Cathleen Yessayan, Anthony Bullens and Rachael Yessayan all of West Roxbury, Chris Bullens (Cassie) of Topsfield and a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Phil enjoyed history, sports (Yankees!), cars, trucks, outdoors and taking his beloved dog Henley for walks. Phil was a personable guy with a quick smile that will be greatly missed.
