Arthur T. Hogan, 80

Dateline: Norton, MA

Arthur T. Hogan, age 80, of Norton, passed away surrounded by caring staff at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton, MA, on Sunday, February 26, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Bonnie H. (MacWilliams) Reilly Hogan to whom he was wed for nearly 19 years.

Born in Boston, on April 25, 1942, he was the loving son of the late William J. Hogan and Margaret W. (Lehman) Hogan and brother of the late Robert Hogan.

Arthur was raised in the Boston neighborhood of Roslindale. He was a member of Holy Name Parish growing up, serving as an altar boy. He graduated from Roslindale High School in 1960 and later from Boston University’s School of Music. He went on to a have a 35-year career as a music teacher and band leader. He taught K-12 for the West Bridgewater school system. He was a positive influence on thousands of kids over the course of his tenure.

Arthur was most proud of being “Pops”. He cherished times spent with his daughters, grandchildren, great grandchild, stepchildren and step-grandchildren. He loved his dogs with all his heart. Arthur enjoyed the simple things in life; fishing on the Cape Cod Canal, road trips to the White Mountains in NH, Amish Country in PA, anywhere he could enjoy beautiful scenery. One of Arthur’s greatest gifts was his sense of humor. He could light up a room and leave people rolling on the floor laughing. He brought levity even in the final stages of his life.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his devoted daughters: Kelly-Ann Collins and her husband, Bud Collins, of Berlin, MA and Kristin Folger of Plymouth, MA and her long-time partner, John Anshewitz III, of Epping NH. He was loving stepdad to Marc Williams and his wife Sabrina Williams of Midlothian, VA and Samantha Ware and her husband Marcus Ware of Washington DC.

He was the cherished grandfather (Pops) to Chelsea Cotter and her husband Sean Cotter, Hanna Konash, Melanie Monti and her husband Tyler Monti and Tess Konash, as well as step-grandchildren; Roman Williams, Luke Williams, Jax Williams, Miles Ware and Isaac Ware. He was proud great-grandfather to Dalton Monti.

He is also survived by his cousin Gayle Costello and her husband Walter Costello of Norfolk, MA and by his loving niece, Nicole Fox and her husband Patrick Fox of Concord, NH.
Together, the family of Arthur Hogan, invites you to join in celebrating the life of this one-of-a-kind man.
