Dr. Frank J. Gualtieri
4/24/2016

Dr. Frank J. Gualtieri, Sr. age 94 of Canton passed away April 24th at the Norwood Hospital surrounded by his loving family and friends. Born and raised in Cambridge, Frank graduated from Cambridge Rindge and Latin High School, Harvard University and Boston University School of Medicine. Dr. Gualtieri was a Urologist at the Norwood Hospital for many years before retiring in 1986. He was a member of the American Urological Assn. As a young man, Frank was hospitalized for over a year and this illness is what sparked his interest in the medical field. He was also a member of the Board of Directors for the Norwood Cooperative Bank for many years. Frank loved playing the piano and guitar and after retiring he attended the Berklee School of Music to be formally trained on how to read, write and harmonize music, culminating in a certificate in jazz piano. Later in life, Frank became challenged by sudden blindness. Instead of becoming bitter, Frank persevered and found joy without sight in the comfort of his wife and children, the laughter of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, the visitations of his other relatives and friends, and the sound of his music.
