Today I called Dot. When no answer, and no phones accepting the calls, I decided to reassure myself and check Obituaries to NOT find her there! I knew she wasn't well, and hadn't been for a long time, but expected her to be still here. I'd spoken with her in early February I think and wish I hadn't let so much time pass before another call today. I'm sitting here with an aching heart, remembering all the Met HD operas we attended together. In fact, it's because of her that I know and love operas. I just went along at first for a favor to her, and of course the fun of being with her, and that world opened up to me. We often had great talks, and so many laughs together. (Well, she's Irish, so of course we did.) I'd appreciate hearing from any of her family members and learning more about her last days. My phone # is 617-461-0435. My sympathy to all of you.
