Though our time together was brief, Sean and I became fast friends and roommates during the last months of his life. He and I shared a love of music, travel and the pursuit of knowledge. I'll always remember the deep conversations we had over dinners and the endearing, protective way he watched out for me. Being one of my only male friends, he felt almost like the older brother I never had. I feel truly blessed to have had the chance to get to know Sean, and his loss is felt by me and the friends and family of mine that had the pleasure to meet him. My parents and I wish to express our deepest condolences to the entire Duffy family during this time of unimaginable loss. I feel truly lucky to have been able to call him a friend and shall always keep the fond memories of him close to my heart.

I've had the opportunity to work with Sean on several projects and on an advisory group for the statewide Maine building code. He was highly regarded in the fire protection community here in northern New England, both from his kindness and his intelligence. He will truly be missed.
