Hobe Sound - Jeannette Jefferson, 81, of Hobe Sound, FL formerly of Brookfield, MA died on Monday, August 8th, 2011 at the Salerno Bay Manor after a courageous battle with lung cancer. She is survived by her children, Norman V. and his wife Gail of Malta, NY; Paul E. and his wife Terri of Sturbridge, MA; Carol A. Litchfield and her husband John of Westerly, RI; and David A. and his wife Wendy of Brookfield, MA; her grandchildren, Jason, John, Nicole, Andrew, Matthew, Amy, Scott, Craig, Kali and Daniel; her great grandchildren, Gabriella, Sean, Emily, Isaac, Boston and Aiden; her brothers Paul "Al" of Worcester, MA and Philip of Stuart, FL; and many nieces and nephews.
Ms. Jefferson was born in Mexico, Maine, daughter of the late Roland and Anna (Bourgea) Levasseur and is predeceased by her brothers, Roland, Raymond, Gerard, Eugene and her former husband Norman V. Jefferson Jr.
Jeannette lived in Rumford, Maine for several years before moving to Worcester in 1941 and then Brookfield in 1956. She retired from Wright Line Company in 1986. Following her retirement, she moved to Hobe Sound in 1998.
Friends and family will gather on Saturday, September 24th from 11AM to 1PM in the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester with a funeral service to follow at 1PM. A Memorial Mass will be held on October 1, at 11 AM in St. Mary's Church, Brookfield, MA. The family asks that Donations be made to The American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
