Gerald W. Lekstrom, 65, of Charlton Street in the Rochdale section of Leicester died Sunday, Sept. 11 in St. Vincent Hospital.
He leaves his wife of 40 years Barbara A. (Biscornet) Lekstrom, two daughters Patrice A. Hunt and her husband Jeff of Brunswick, Maine and Robin M. Hunt and her husband Steven of Rochdale, two brothers Robert Lekstrom and his wife Sandra of North Grosvenordale, CT and David Lekstrom and his wife Brenda of Rochdale, a sister Sandra LeFrancois and her husband Robert of North Carolina, six grandchildren Jonah, Nathaniel, Ethan, Annie, Lily & Emily and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Lekstrom was born in Worcester, son of Robert and Kathleen (Turner) Lekstrom. He worked in the cable industry for many years at various companies before starting his own business, Cable Service Co. which he operated until his retirement. He was a member of the Rochdale VFW Post 7556. He enjoyed fishing, reading and socializing. He loved to putter around the house and to fix whatever needed to be fixed.
Funeral services and burial in Worcester County Memorial Park will be private. Calling hours are Wednesday, Sept. 14 from 5:00-7:00 PM in MORIN-MORRISON FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester.
