
LOWELL—Agatha M. “Dot” (Juerst) Riley, 91 years old, died Tuesday afternoon, February 16th, at Saints Memorial Medical Center. She was the wife of the late James C. Riley, who died in 1981.
She was born in New Jersey, on February 18, 1912, a daughter of the late Dr. Richard and Agatha (Kohl) Juerst, and was a graduate of St. John’s Academy, and Finishing School, both in New Jersey.
Mrs. Riley had resided in Lowell for over seventy years. She was employed as a Fashion Consultant and Salesperson for the House of Irwin and A.G. Pollards, for many years. She was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church and held membership in the Ladies of Charity and the Paint and Powder Club.
Surviving her are a daughter: Jean M. Riley, of Lowell, with whom she resided; a son: Richard J. Riley, of Peterborough, NH; three grandchildren: Michael J. Riley, Jennifer M. Hubley, and Elizabeth J. Riley; four great-grandchildren: Katherine and John Hubley, and Benjamin and Anna Riley.
She was the mother-in-law of the late Kathryn Riley.
Friends may call on Monday, February 23rd, from 2 to 5 PM at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38). Her Funeral Mass to be offered Tuesday morning, February 24th, at 10:30 AM at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH, Lowell. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery, Lowell.
