Obituary

Richard T.”Dick”Proulx, 71, of Manchester, died September 9, 2011. He was born in Manchester, October 12, 1939, to John and Marie (Blanchette) Proulx. He received his early education in Manchester. He received his Bachelors degree from St. Anselm College, and later he received a Masters degree from UMass Lowell.
For over 36 years Dick worked as a math teacher at Manchester Memorial High School.
During his tenure, Dick became the advisor to the National Honor Society. One of his greatest accomplishments in that time was the establishment of a Valentines Day tradition called “Flower Power.” They sold,in some years, up to 5000 carnations to raise money for scholarships for the National Honor Society.
During his retirement he enjoyed cruising the world with his wife of fifty years, Irene. In his spare time he followed all Boston sports, doing puzzles, and following the horses with his best friend. He will be remembered as a loving and caring husband, father, grandfather, and friend, and will be missed by all.
Family members include his wife Irene(Boucher)Proulx, of Manchester; 3 daughters, Donna Proulx, of Manchester, Debbie Denoncourt, of Amherst, Denise Decker, of Manchester; 3 grandchildren, Kayla, Nathan, Kelsey; 2 sisters, Aurore Proulx, Beatrice Proulx, both of Belmont; a brother, John Proulx, of Salem; several nieces, nephews.

A funeral Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Tuesday, September 13, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, Meetinghouse Rd., Bedford.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
