FRAMINGHAM - Lou (Stasinopulos) Chisholm, 89, of Framingham, formerly of Salem, wife of the late David Chisholm, who was a former Assistant Area Director for AFSCME, died Sunday morning, February 22, 2004 at the Carlyle House in Framingham, following a long illness.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Heidi (Routses) Stasinopulos.
Mrs Chisholm graduated from Northeastern University and went to work in the retail clothing industry. During her career, she worked as both a women’s fashion buyer and a department manager at such stores as Caldors, Raymonds, Sears & Roebuck as well as at New York stores when the family lived in New York and New Jersey.
After her retirement, she began a second career as a docent at the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem. She loved giving tours to visitors and was an active participant in the museum’s many education programs. She even found time to write articles for the docent newsletter. She made many friends at the museum who kept up their friendships with her after she moved to Framingham in 1991.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Peter and Barbara Chisholm of Ashland, two grandchildren, Sarah Duggan and Peter Duggan, both of Oxford, one sister, Ethel Patrikis of Swampscott and several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Ellen Duggan and sister of the late Marjorie Stasinopulos, Beatrice Stasinopulos, Kay Despotopulos and Jenny Zervas.
A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2004 at 11 am in the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
