Fall River – Anna (Souza) Sylvia, 82, of Fall River, formerly of State Road, Westport died February 21, 2004 at Crawford Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center after a long illness. She was the widow of Jack P. Sylvia.
She was born in St. Michael, Azores, Portugal, daughter of the late Joao and Mary Souza, and resided in Westport for 40 years. She was a communicant of St. George Church, Westport. She was employed as a seamstress by the former Pilgrim Curtain Co., Fall River until her retirement.
Survivors include 2 daughters: Bella Lopes of Westport and Polly Moniz of Dartmouth; 2 sons: Alfred Sylvia of Westport and Jack P. Sylvia of Berkley, MA; 2 sisters: Maria Lima of Canada and Laura Souza of Portugal; 2 brothers: Fernando Souza and Antone Souza both of Fall River; 11 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.
She was mother of the late Connie Rego and grandmother of the late Kerrie Sylvia.

Funeral will be from the POTTER FUNERAL HOME, 81 Reed Road, Westport on Thursday, February 25, 2004 at 8:30 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. George Church, Westport at 9:30 A.M.
Flowers are acceptable or memorial donations may be made to Crawford Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, 273 Oak Grove Ave., Fall River, MA 02720.
Interment in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
