Robert J. Miller, Sr., age 90
Retired General Electric Electrician and
former Tewksbury Wiring Inspector
TEWKSBURY: Robert J. Miller, Sr., age 90, a resident of Tewksbury for over 50 years, passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2011 at the Life Care Center in Billerica.
He was the beloved husband of Florence E. (Thompson) Miller.
Born in Boston on January 7, 1921, he was the son of the late Frederick A. and Catherine (Hartnett) Miller.
Mr. Miller was raised in Boston and graduated from Charlestown High School.
In 1945, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during World War II with B Company, 12th Battalion, 1st Regiment.
Prior to his retirement, he was employed as an Electrician by the General Electric Company, where he worked for 28 years. During the 1960's, Mr. Miller served as Wiring Inspector for the Tewksbury Building Department.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children, Elizabeth Brady of Tewksbury, Roberta Brady and her husband Joseph of E. Kingston, NH, Robert J. Miller, Jr. of Dracut, Fred Miller of Groton and Arthur Miller of Tewksbury; three grandchildren, Colleen Brady, Maureen Brady and Joseph Brady; also five great grandchildren.
Mr. Miller was the grandfather of the late George W. Brady, Jr.
At his request funeral services were held privately.
