Charles A. Rossi, 80 of Medford, died Tuesday in his home after a lengthy illness. Born in Oyster Bay, NY, he was the son of the late Jerome and the late Carmela (Russo) Rossi. Mr. Rossi was a Medford resident for sixty years and also was a resident of Ft. Lauderdale, FL during the winter months since 1993. He worked for many years as an insurance agent for the Prudential Insurance Co. retiring in 1984. He then worked for fifteen years as a salesperson in the Men“s Departments of Filenes and Jordan Marsh Dept. Stores. As a young man he was a musician, He was a trumpet player and band leader prior to World War II. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Charles' memory to Hallmark Health Hospice 100 Hospital Rd. Malden, MA 02148
He is survived by his wife Rose (Avellino) Rossi, two children Charles J. Rossi of Pelham, NHand Renee Kenney of Medford. He is also survived by two grandsons Eric Rossi and Zachary Rossi and granddaughter Stephanie Kenney. Brother of the late Jospeh, Ralph and Anthony Rossi.
A funeral mass will celebrated Saturday at 9:00 AM in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford/Somerville. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Services will conclude with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Visiting hours Friday from 4 thru 8 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford.
