Ann E. (Berriman) Murphy, 72, died Wednesday at RI Hospital. She was the wife of the late Edmund M. Murphy, II. Beloved mother of Edmund M. Murphy, III and his wife, Kathleen (Egan) Murphy and grandmother of Morgan Murphy all of Somerset, NJ.
Born in Providence, RI, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Agnes (Yarwood)Berriman
Mrs. Murphy was a graduate of Classical High School and Trinity College. She was a lifelong Special Education teacher and retired from the Warwick School System in 1996. In retirement she continued to articipate with ADK and to advise student teachers in Special Education through courses at Salve Regina College and Providence College. She was extremely active in St. Philip’s Church as a Eucharistic Minister and Reader.
She is also survived by two brothers, Arthur Berriman of Tiverton and Edward Berriman of Alexandria, VA, a sister, Margaret Whitaker of Seekonk, MA and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Saturday at 9:30 AM from the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville, Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30am in St. Philip Church, 622 Putnam Pike, Greenville. Burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence. Visitation Friday 4-7 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Saint Matthias School, 170 John F.
