METHUEN – Jean (Ridlon) Smith 89 of Methuen and formerly of Chelmsford died Tuesday September 6, 2011 at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA.
Born and educated in Arlington, MA she was the daughter of Addison and Grace (Whitaker) Ridlon. She was a resident of Chelmsford, MA for 55 years before moving to Methuen Village Community, which was one of the best year of her life. She was employed for 18 years as a bookkeeper with the Pellon Corp.
The widow of Albert E. Smith, she is survived by her son Rick Smith of Sherman Oaks, CA. Daughter-in-law Beverly Smith of Salem, NH
One great-granddaughter Samantha Anne Murray of Derry, NH.
Jean was pre-deceased by her son Russell Smith who died in 2010.
ARRANGEMENTS; Family and friends may call on Friday from 1:00p.m. – 2:00p.m. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc., 233 Lawrence Street Methuen, MA 01844. A funeral service will follow at 2:00p.m. in the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date at the families convenience.
