Obituary

James E. Spillane, 73 years, of Brockton, Thursday September 1, 2011 at Signature Healthcare-Brockton Hospital. He was the husband for more than 47 years to Eva (Manseau) Spillane.

James had been a lifelong resident of Brockton and was the son of the late James and Dorothy (MacPherson) Spillane. He was a graduate of Brockton High School and attended RI School of Radio and Electronics and Northeastern’s evening program.
James enlisted into the US Army and was later joined by his younger brother Ken where together they served in the 82ND Airborne. He made his career as an electronics technician and worked for the former I Tech on the north shore and MIT in Cambridge as well as several companies that branched out of MIT including the grass roots of the Bose Corporation, he retired 9 years ago.

James enjoyed playing Golf and Billiards as well walking, telling a good story with a great sense of humor and discussing politics with all who would listen.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters, Colleen Pierce and her husband Dennis of E. Bridgewater and Jaime Cogliano of Brockton; two granddaughters, Samantha and Jessica and three brothers Kenneth of So. Yarmouth and David and Frederick both of Florida.

Funeral Mass in St. John Church, 210 Central Street, East Bridgewater, Saturday Sept. 10, 2011 at 9 am. Visiting hours have been omitted. Burial in Calvary Cemetery Brockton. Arrangements by Conley Funeral and Cremation Service, Brockton.
