Worcester, Ma. – Donald V. Collins, Jr. 53, died September 4, 2011 at the Ichabod Washburn Hospice Residence surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Methuen June 14, 1958, he lived the 1st half of his life in Lawrence attending the John Breen and Kane grammar school and graduating from Central Catholic High School class of 1976. He attended the University of Lowell and Worcester Technical Institution where he received his Associates degree in nursing. As an LPN he had been employed at the Beaumont Nursing Home of Westboro for 17 years.
Donald loved animals, was an exceptional cook, and had a keen eye for antique auctions on Ebay and enjoyed traveling as well as movie memorabilia.
He is survived by his spouse of 7 years and prior to that together for 21 years ; Ronald E. Williams.
Survivors also include his parents Donald Sr. and his mother Beverly Collins of Gilford, NH, a sister Deborah Pendergast and brother-in-law Dana and their 6 children, Alexis, Cassandra, Eleni Nicholas Matthew and Bryan. His sister Karen Bray, and her husband Richard and their 3 sons, Kyle, Christopher, and Mitchell. Kelly Collins and her spouse, Katie Collins and her daughter Liza. Countless friends, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services will take place on Friday morning at 10 o’clock from the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc. 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen with burial to follow in Bellevue Cemetery in Lawrence.
Friends will be warmly received on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
