Donald A. Danahy, 72, A resident of Methuen, Massachusetts died on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 in the Boston Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts on July 11, 1939 to Cornelius and Mildred (Kelleher) Danahy. He was educated in St. Augustine Grammar School, and he attended Central Catholic High School. He enlisted in the United States Navy serving during the Vietnam Era. He worked in security for Raytheon for over twenty years, and then went on to work for DECOM Transport for 8 years, and then he worked for Shaws Warehouse in security until his retirement. He was a life long parishioner of St. Augustine's Church in Lawrence. He was a member of the Lawrence Lodge of Elks. B.P.O.E. #65.
He leaves his loving wife: Anne M. (Chamberland) Danahy and he leaves his two children: Daniel Danahy of Methuen and Kathleen Danahy of Haverhill, MA. and one grand daughter: Jacqueline Moe of Haverhill, MA. He leaves his sister Barbara Fiore and her husband Robert of Derry, NH, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 9, 2011 at 11:00AM at Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish, St. Augustine Chapel, 128 Ames Street, Lawrence, MA. 01841. A burial will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Lawrence, MA.
