Obituary

Frances Ann (DeLuca) Candito, 89, of Worcester, died September 1, 2011 at Holy Trinity Nursing Facility after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease.


She leaves her children Jane C. Corr and her late husband C.John Corr of Kingston, Kenneth F. Candito & his wife Nancy of Dudley, Rosemarie C. Franchi & her husband Joseph of Worcester, Thomas F. Candito of Charlton & Michael J. Candito & his wife Kristin of Webster. She leaves ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

She was the beloved sister of Edward J. DeLuca and his wife Leora of Inglewood, Fl., Richard J. DeLuca and his companion, Barbara of Roseville, Mn., Janet Fazio and her husband Louis of Worcester, Katherine Drumheller of Worcester and Robert A. Deluca of West Palm Beach, Fl; a brother in law, John Candito and his wife Mary of Hull.

Frances was predeceased by her brother Frank W. DeLuca and a sister Helen F. Koslowski.

Frances was born March 9, 1922 in Natick, Massachusetts a daughter of Frank and Annie (Romanelli) DeLuca and lived most of her life in Worcester. She was the wife of Salvatore D. Candito who died in 1994.


A devoted wife and mother, she loved to cook and spend time with her family. She was a member of the Worcester Music Guild and a long time volunteer with the American Cancer Society offering support and encouragement to breast cancer patients. She belonged to Our Lady of the Angels Parish and enjoyed spending winters in Florida on Marco Island.

The family wishes to express our deepest gratitude to the staff of Holy Trinity for their thoughtful care and compassion.

A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel-St. Ann Church at 11:00AM. There are no calling hours. Burial will be private. Funeral arrangements under the direction of FAZIO FUNERAL HOME, 9 Branch Street, Worcester, Louis M. Fazio Jr. and Louis M. Fazio III, Directors. IN LIEU OF FLOWERS, memorial donations made be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St. Framingham, Ma. 01710 or to the Alzheimer's Association, 311 Arsenal St Watertown, Ma. 02472.
