Annette S. Mate passed away at a Macon hospital on Friday, September 2, 2011. Born in Macon on February 12, 1949, she lived her whole life in Georgia.
A memorial service will be held at Martha Bowman Memorial United Methodist Church on Bass Road, in Macon, on Tuesday, September 6, at 3:30 PM. The Reverends Jay Harris and John Horton will officiate. Family visitation will be conducted after the service.
Mrs. Mate is survived by Brian Mate, her husband of 39 years, sons Bradford J. (wife Beverly) of Stuttgart, Germany, Brandon J. (wife Kimberly) of Orlando , Florida, daughter Emily J. of Juliette, 4 grandchildren, Sophia, Bridget, Molly, and Braden Mate, father Hampton Stallworth of Juliette, and sister Jannis Nix (husband Ralph) of Macon.
Annette was a high school math teacher for 32 years in Fitzgerald, Macon, and Barnesville. She loved God, her family, her friends, and her church.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Martha Bowman Methodist Church music fund.
