WENHAM: Isabel B. (Catto) Harris, 77, died Saturday, September 3, 2011 in the Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers following a year-long battle with cancer. She was the wife of Thomas J. Harris.
Born in Gloucester on May 8, 1934, she was the daughter of the late John and Florence (Michael) Catto. She was a graduate of the Gloucester High School class of 1952.
She and Tom raised their family in Magnolia; then resided in Middleton for twenty years, prior to moving to Wenham several years ago.
They've owned and operated Impress Printing of Middleton for the last twenty-five years. She had also been employed as the bookkeeper for Deering Electric for many years.
She and Tom earned their pilots licenses and traveled for many years in their own airplane. Her family knew her to be the kindest, most loving, wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her husband of fifty-eight years, she is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Robin Harris, Deborah and Ted Marakoulos; three grandchildren, Michael John Harris, Christopher Ryan Harris, and Emma Anne Marakoulos; two sisters, Margaret Allen and Evaline, wife of Robert Thibodeau; a sister-in-law, Marjorie Mann and many nieces, nephews and dear friends. She was also predeceased by her son, John Michael Harris; her brother, Adam Brown Catto; a sister and two brothers-in-law, Florence and Francis Beaudain and Lyman Allen.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday morning in the Church of St. Paul, 50 Union Street, South Hamilton at 9 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday in the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester from 4 – 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the John M.
