WEBSTER - Clarence G. Plasse, 88, of 52 Hartley Street, died Friday, February 20, in Webster Manor.
He leaves his wife of 54 years, Mary G. (Gulczynski) Plasse; 3 daughters, Adrienne F. Plasse of San Rafael, CA, Susan C. Plasse of Webster and Renee M. Ondrasek of Thompson; a sister, Mayda Woznicki of Newington, CT; 3 grandchildren, Brandon D. and Christopher R. Ondrasek of Thompson, and Shaolin Plasse of San Rafael, CA. He was predeceased by 4 brothers, Theodore, Arthur, Roland, and Leon Plasse, and 4 sisters, Diana Dupre, Alice Woznicki, Loretta Nalewajk and Edna Duffy.
He was born in Webster, a son of Pierre and Catherine Plasse. He graduated from Bartlett High School in 1935, where he was awarded the BHS boxing crown and played football and varsity baseball.
He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific.
Mr. Plasse was once a Mass. state trooper. He then worked for the Commonwealth’s Dept. Of Public Works, helping to build Route 395. He retired in 1972. He then worked part time at Anglo Fabrics Co. and Maanexit Spinning Co. He was a member of St. Louis Church, and the Retired State, County, and Municipal Employees Assoc. of Mass. He was an ardent Patriots fan, and enjoyed walking and swimming. Above all else, he loved his family.
The funeral, with military honors, will be held Tuesday, Feb.24, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in Saint Louis Church, 14 Lake Street Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Calling hours are from 6:00 to 9:00 PM Monday, February 23, at the funeral home.
