Everett Robert “Weasel" Marshall, a lifelong resident of Quincy and United States Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War passed away unexpectedly at home on Thursday September 1, 2011. He was 66 years old and the husband of the late Marilynn (Madar) Marshall. He is survived by his loving daughter Alicia A. Sheehan and her husband Shawn M. Sheehan of East Taunton, two cherished grandchildren, Brent M. Sheehan and Te’ha L. Sheehan both of East Taunton and his brother William C. Marshall of Hingham.
Born on November 28, 1944 in Quincy, Massachusetts he was a son to the late William and Ruth Marshall. He attended Quincy Public Schools and was a graduate of Quincy High School. Mr. Marshall enlisted in the United States Navy, and proudly but quietly served his country as an Aircraft Mechanic and was a member of the Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron, elite-8 while overseas during the Vietnam Conflict. He was the recipient of the National Defense Service Medal.
After returning from active military duty, Mr. Marshall was employed for many years as a Electronics Engineer with various electronics companies in the South Shore area. He was an avid deep sea fisherman and enjoyed many boating outings on his boat "GLORY DAYS.” He also was a master woodworking craftsman and liked playing pool. Having had his own motorcycle shop in his earlier years, he had a special talent when it came to building and fixing motorcycles.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday September 6, 2011 from 4–8 P.M. in the Sheehan Funeral Home, 115 Monk Street, Stoughton. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. His funeral service will be held on Wednesday September 7, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. in the Sheehan Funeral Home, 115 Monk Street, Stoughton. Burial with military honors will follow in Mount Wollaston Cemetery, 20 Sea Street, Quincy. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Everett’s memory to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, C/O Head & Neck Oncology Group, 44 Binney Street, Boston, MA 02115–6084.
