LAWRENCE – Arnold J. Coelho 82 of South Lawrence, MA passed away Tuesday August 30, 2011 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, MA.
Born in Methuen, MA son of Annacleto and Eva (Pelletier) Coelho. He attended the Stephen Barker Grammar School and was a graduate of Lawrence High School. He served in the United States National Guard and was honorably discharged. For many years he was a carpenter and member of the Local Union 33 in Massachusetts. In his later years he was a bus driver with Trombly Motor Coach, a job he enjoyed in semi retirement because of his interaction with people. He also served as a Town Councilor in the Town of Methuen and was also a member of the Knights of Columbus # 4027 in Methuen.
The widower of Carol (St. Pierre) Coelho, sharing 56 years of marriage together and were blessed with seven children who he leaves, Paul J. Coelho and his companion Donna of Haverhill, MA, James R. Coelho of Lawrence, MA, Robert J. Coelho also of Lawrence, MA, Ronald S. Coelho of Haverhill, MA, Linda A. Labonville of Methuen, MA, Gloria J. Mazzaglia and her husband Michael J. of Manchester, NH and Patricia A. Richardson and her companion Tom of Derry, NH.
Brother Matthew Coelho of Salem, NH and a sister Shirley Robichaud of Methuen, MA.
12 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 4:00p.m. – 8:00p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11:00a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church in Lawrence, MA. Burial will follow in Holy Sepulchere Cemetery in North Andover, MA. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the American Diabetes Association 330 Congress St. 5th Floor Boston, MA
