Vincent J. “Jim” Giordano, of Medford, formerly of East Boston died Friday at home in the company of his living family. He was 93.
Jim was born and raised in East Boston, the son of the late Antonio and the late Carmella (Scialdone) Giordano. He was called to duty in the US Navy during World War II, leaving his young family to serve as a gunner’s mate in the Pacific. He worked for many years with C. Pappas Co. as a wine steward. Jim was devoted to his family and enjoyed their company.
The beloved husband of Lillian Giordano, with whom he shared 72 years of marriage, he was a devoted father to James Giordano and his wife Gail of Marshfield and the late Paul Giordano. He was a devoted father-in-law to Elizabeth Giordano of Leominster, a loving grandfather to: David, Stephen, Susan, Amy and Jeffrey and a loving great-grandfather to: Domenic, Antonio, Susan, Nathan, Owen, Eleanor; Augustus, Amanda Rose, Caitlin and Brady. He also leaves his brother Patsy Giordano of Medford.
His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Tuesday, Sept. 6th, at 9:30 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden, at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 4 - 8. Services will conclude with burial and military honors at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
