DOROTHY SANGSTER LINNIG, 85, passed away on August 25, 2011.
Dorothy was co-owner of Mike Linnig’s Restaurant where she worked tirelessly every day until the age of 78. Her heart, soul and love for the restaurant will continue on through her children and grandchildren.
She was also a member of the Ladies Auxillary of VFW Iroquois Post 6182, and St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church (St. Clement campus).
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, William Linnig and a grandson, Timothy N. Janes.
Survivors include her children, Nancy Wuerth (Robert), Deborah Linnig Michals (Fred King), William A. Linnig (Mary), and Teresa Cissell (Lindsay); grandchildren, Shannon Majors (Heath), Matthew and Brandon Wuerth, Sarah and Scott Michals, Bill Linnig, and Landon Cissell; one great grandson, Hunter Majors; and her brother, Charles Sangster.
Visitation will be from 12 – 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. on Monday, and 8 a.m. – 10 a.m. Tuesday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated 1:30 p.m. Monday at St. Paul Catholic Church, 6901 Dixie Highway. Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Calvary Cemetery.
The Linnig family would like to extend special thanks to Dorothy’s private caregivers for all the love and care given. The family would also like to thank the staff at the Oaklawn Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
