Obituary

Betty was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt. She was born on March 10, 1936. She was preceded in death by her parents, Velma Beatrice and Eskel Clyde Gentry; three brothers, Burnice Rubin Gentry (Hattie), William Harrison Gentry (Rose), and James Eskel Gentry (Lorene); three sisters, Buena Christine Barnes (Tommy), Mary Louise Osborne (Charles), and Magdaline Ogan (H.L.); and two sons, James Clifford Kelley and Steven Ray Kelly. She is survived her husband of 40 years, Marcus Liddon “Don” Brown; three children, Dorothy “Dot” Kelly Walker (Jim) of Tucson, Catherine Lorraine Harris (Frank), and John Marshall Morgan, Jr. (Mary) of Nashville; two grandchildren, Timothy O’Brian Kelley (Crystal) and Caitlin Victoria Harris; three great grandchildren, Connor, Cassie and Collin Kelley; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Betty was a loving, caring, strong, hard working and independent woman who was always there for her family. She had a long career with The Krystal Co. and Revco (now CVS). Betty will be greatly missed by family and friends and will live in our hearts forever.

Graveside services only will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery, Last Supper (new section ) on Saturday, September 3, 2011, at 10 am.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Alive Hospice , 1718 Patterson St., Nashville, TN 37203.
