Annette (McCaffrey) Saulnier, 75 of South Dartmouth died Wednesday August 31, 2011 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness. She was the loving wife of Donald J. Saulnier with whom she celebrated 50 years of marriage on August 26th.
Born in County Cavan, Ireland, she was the daughter of the late John and Julia (Reilly) McCaffrey and the sister of Patricia Keogh and Sheila Smith of County Cavan and Kathleen Hackett of County Sligo.
Survivors besides her husband and sisters, are a daughter, Kathleen A. Bergeron and her husband Ronald of New Bedford; three grandchildren, Jeffrey A. Bergeron, Thomas J. Bergeron and Kristen LeBeau and her husband Christopher; and three great-grandchildren, Jacob, Autumn and Hailey LeBeau, all of New Bedford, as well as numerous nieces and nephews in Ireland.
She was the mother of the late John G. Saulnier.
Annette loved doing crossword puzzles, listening to Irish music, and being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. When she was younger she sang in her church choir, helped with the Cub Scouts, cooked and fed the homeless at Market Ministries, and was a volunteer at the Schwartz Center for Children.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday at 10 AM at St. Mary's Church, South Dartmouth. Burial will follow in the South Dartmouth Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Thursday from 4-8 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
