Obituary

Lane, Joanne (Scanlan) of Centerville, 86, passed away
peacefully on Tuesday August 30th, surrounded by her three daughters and her son.
She was born in Cambridge MA on May 29, 1925, the eldest child of Thomas F. and
Josephine McIsaac Scanlan.
She is survived by her sister Kathleen
Scanlan Clinton and was predeceased by her sisters Patricia Scanlan Adams and
Mary Scanlan Moore and her two brothers Thomas Scanlan and William Scanlan.
Joanne graduated from Emmanuel College in Boston in 1946, and in 1949 she
married Paul Edward Lane, who predeceased her in 1992. Joanne lived in Belmont
with her family for over twenty five years before moving with
her husband to Centerville on the Cape. She enjoyed a successful career as a
realtor in Belmont and Osterville. Joanne is also survived by her daughters and son and their spouses: Susan and
Richard Shriner of Darien, CT, Paul Edward (Ted) and Margaret Lane of New
Canaan, CT, Rosemary and Richard Fahey of Wellesley, MA and Joanne and Bruce
Sheldon of Stamford, CT., as well as nine grandchildren and one great-
grandchild.
A private family service and internment will be held at Holyhood Cemetery in
Brookline. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to "Boston College",
designated to the Thomas F. Scanlan 20 Award and sent to Boston College,
Office of University Advancement, More Hall 220, 140 Commonwealth Ave.,
