Kenneth Melvin Doss, Sr., 49, of 1071 Highland Hills Drive, Halifax, VA, died Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at his residence. Born November 17, 1961 in Lynchburg, VA, he was the son of the late Alonzo Doss and Fleecy Keatts of Hurt, VA. He was married to Sylvia Ann Doss who predeceased him. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include one son: Kenneth Melvin Doss, Jr.; two brothers: James Edward Keatts of the residence and Donnie Ray Layne of Hurt, VA; two sisters: Josephine Keatts Compton of Brookneal, VA and Joyce Keatts Besinger of Goochland, VA; one grandson: Shane Sulter. He was predeceased by two sisters: Mary Compton of Chatham, VA and Chatrine King of Gretna, VA.
Funeral services officiated by Rev. Jo Summons will be held Thursday, September 1, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Barker Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at Barker Funeral Home Chapel from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
