NATICK: Daphne J. (Inglesbirth) Doheny, 60, died on August 23, 2011 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on July 14, 1951 in Siparia, Trinidad.
Daphne is survived by her husband of 18 years, Anthony J. “Tony” Doheny, Jr. of Natick. She was the mother of Kisha A. Callender of Marlborough and Sparkle T. Callender and her husband Paul Williams of Plantation, FL. Step-mother of David Richardson of Somerville and Adam Doheny of East Boston and the aunt/guardian of Raylecia Mohammed of Natick. Also survived by two grandsons, Chaz and Levi Williams of Plantation, FL, and three brothers and their familes, Ferdinand, Sterling, and Shirvan Thomas of Fyzabad, Trinidad.
Daphne spent her earlier years in Trinidad where she received her education at the University of West Indies in St. Augustine, Trinidad. She came to the United States in 1990 and had resided in Natick since 1993. She has been a loan analyst for the Mass Development Finance Agency in Boston for several years. She enjoyed cooking and gardening and had both vegetable and flower gardens at her home in Natick. She was devoted to her family and her faith.
Family and friends may gather on Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011 from 9:30 to 10:30 am at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), Wayland. Her Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 o’clock at the Parish of the Good Shepherd at St. Zepherins Church, 99 Main St (Rte 27), Wayland.
Interment will be private at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, her family suggests memorial gifts in Daphne’s memory may be sent to Gilda’s Club of South Florida, 119 Rose Dr. Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316 or the Vernon Cancer Center at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, 2014 Washington St, Newton, MA 02462.
