
Helene Ann Bossange (deLorimier) of Wellesley died peacefully at the age of 85 at home on Sunday, August 28th surrounded by her four sons. She was a resident of Wellesley for 56 years.
Helene was the wife of the late Hector Bossange. She was born in Sacramento, California in 1926 and raised in her early years in Marysville, CA. where her family had a fruit ranch. The family then moved to San Francisco. She met her husband in Bolinas, CA. and was married in 1948. She was a devoted wife and mother for 63 years.
Helene was survived by her sons, John, William, Robert and his wife Diane, James and his wife Patricia and her five grandchildren, Edward, Annie, Lisa, Ethan, and Hannah Bossange. Helene was also the mother in law of the late Janet Bossange. Helene was survived by 3 of her sisters.
Helene graduated from the Convent of the Sacred Heart of San Francisco and attended Lone Mountain College for Women. After initially settling in California, she and her husband moved to Wellesley in 1954 where they raised their children. Later she worked in the Wellesley Public School System as an instructional assistant in the Special Education Department in the Perrin, Bates and Upham schools.
While being a devoted wife and mother, Helene was an avid reader, book club member and gardener. She was a self-taught naturalist and birder, and took care of her yard until she became ill this summer.
Services for the celebration of her life will be held at St. Andrew’s Church, 79 Denton Road, Wellesley, MA at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, September 8, 2011.
