JANE ELLEN (CARVER MCNIFF) GEORGE, of Weymouth, passed away on Aug. 26th, 2011.
Jane is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Lea (George) Minister and her husband Mark, and beloved granddaughter, Ellen Lea of Hingham. Cherished daughter of the late Maxine (Griffin) Soucy. Sister of Paul McNiff, Jr. of Worcester, P. Marilyn McNiff of Marlboro, Rita Hamilton, Paula Gillogly and Mary Lou Shattuck all of Pepperell, MA, Sheila Griffin of Groton, MA and Carole McNiff of Spring Hill, FL.
Jane was a resident of Pepperell, MA in her early years before moving to her beloved Daytona Beach, FL. She later moved to Newburyport, MA where she adored her time out on Plum Island. In her final years, she lived in Clearwater, FL and most recently moved to Weymouth, MA to be closer to her family. She worked a various jobs throughout her life, but her most proud career was as a social worker helping children.
A Memorial Service will be conducted on Saturday, Sept. 3rd at 11 AM at the Hingham Congregational Church, 366 Main St. (Rt. 228), Hingham followed by a reception in the church vestry.
