SALEM, New Hampshire - Christopher D. McDowell, 40, beloved husband, father, son, and brother, died August 25, 2011.
He was born in Great Lakes, Illinois, the son of Suzette (LaStrapes) of Houston, Texas and the late Master Chief Petty Officer Ret., Joseph G. McDowell, Sr. Chris was a graduate of Tomball High School and attended Sam Houston University and the University of Houston.
Christopher was employed as an I.T. Security Specialist, U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security and F.B.I. for Harris I.T. Service Corporation, located at Manchester Boston Regional Airport.
Chris had a deep love for his family, especially his two children whom he adored. He was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed taking his children to Disney World and spending time with friends and neighbors. His other interests included cooking, golfing, football and scuba diving.
Christopher is survived by his loving wife of 10 years Sharon M. (Eyssi) McDowell, his children Jenna Grace and Jacob Joseph McDowell, his mother Suzette, two brothers and their wives Joseph G. Jr. and Karen McDowell from Gilford, NH, and Kirby and Burcu McDowell of Virginia Beach, VA, a goddaughter Emily and many close aunts, uncles, sister/brother-in-laws, and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be private for the family, with burial to take place at a later date in Texas. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Christopher’s memory to the Muscular Dystrophy Association (to benefit Myositis Research), PO Box 78960, Phoenix, AZ 85062-8960 or at mdausa.org.
