Obituary

Ethel M. (Alix) Dufault, 92, formerly of 40 Lincoln Street died Sunday, Aug. 28 in the Christopher House after an illness.

Her husband Felix P. Dufault died in 1977. She leaves three daughters Madeleine J. Beauboeuf and her husband Guy of Milan, N.H., Lorraine C. Lane and her husband Paul of Worcester and Pauline M. Dufault and her husband Stephen Hildebrant of Rock Hill, S.C., five grandchildren Anne-Marie, Andy, Peter, Emily & Melanie, 5 step-grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren and 1 step great-great grandson, and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by two brothers Ernest & Elmer Alix.

Mrs. Dufault was born in Spencer, daughter of Ernest F. and Rosalma (Lachapelle) Alix. She was a Librarian at Lake Street School for 5 years retiring in 1979. Ethel and her husband owned and operated Clover Dale Farm for over 20 years. She graduated from Presentation of Mary Academy in Hudson, N.H. and attended Worcester State College and Becker Junior College. She was a member of Mary, Queen of the Rosary Parish where she was a Eucharistic Minister, Lecture, and Religious Education Teacher for 14 years, a member of the Women’s Guild, Martha Mary Guild, Parish Council and many church committees. She was a member of the Spencer Garden Club, Spencer Chapter AARP and was a Spencer 4H Club leader for 10 years.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, Aug. 31 from J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., with a Mass at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 7 Church Street, Spencer. Burial will follow in Mary, Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer. Calling hours are Tuesday, from 6:00-8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Mary, Queen of the Rosary Memorial Fund, 60 Maple Street, Spencer, MA 01562.
