Hampton, NH – Florence A. (Quatrale) Sammataro, 100, died Friday at her home in Hampton, New Hampshire surrounded by her loving family. Born May 13, 1911 in East Boston, Florence was the daughter of Michael and Gerloma (Capuzzelli) Quatrale. She was educated in the Haverhill Public Schools and later lived in Methuen. She spent summers at her home at Salisbury Beach.
For many years Mrs. Sammataro worked for GLARC, the Greater Lawrence Association for Retarded Citizens. While living in Methuen, she was a member of St. Monica’s Church.
Florence was the widow of Anthony (Gene) Sammataro. She is survived by her daughters Theresa and son-in-law John Devine of Hampton, NH and Anna Marie Sammataro of Methuen, grandchildren Doreen Keller, John Devine Jr., Cathy Byrnes, Christine Caron and Carole Devine, great grandchildren Rachel Noiseux, Kaitlyn Kalkanajian, Kimberly McDevitt, Sarah Devine and Kristen Keller, brother in law John Sammataro, sister-in-law Nina Lucas and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brothers Louis Stabile, Arthur Quatrale and sisters Mary Navarria, Rose Brigham and Antoinette Wainwright.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday morning at 11 o’clock in Saint Monica’s Church in Methuen with burial to follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday from 5-8 pm at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc., 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
