Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Saturday at 9:30 am. Funeral Mass in St. Bridget Church, Abington at 10:30 am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting hours Friday 3-7 pm.
Obituary Information
Mrs. Chella died Wednesday evening at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center, Brockton after a brief illness. Born in Brockton, daughter of the late Patrick and Jane (Johnson) Donahue. She was a graduate of Brockton High School, Class of 1937. During WWII she served in the US Navy as a Pharmacist’s Mate Second Class. She was a former resident of Vincent Blanchard Senior Complex in Abington. She had worked as an LPN at the Norfolk County Hospital for 30 years and the Goddard Hospital; had been an active volunteer for the Pine Street Inn, Meals on Wheels, Abington Seniors Assoc. and the Visiting Nurses Assoc. Past president of Vincent Blanchard Gardens Assoc. Mrs. Chella received awards for the Abington Bests and the Exceptional Services for Seniors of Abington.
She is survived by two nieces, Patricia Flynn of Brockton, MaryLou McGlone of Abington, a nephew Robert McGuire of Tennessee and a brother in law William J. McGuire of Brockton, several great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Robert Donahue, Alice R. McGuire and Margaret McGlone, aunt of the late Jane F. Horton and great aunt of the late Staff Sgt. Robert J. McGuire, Jr.
