
Tampa, FL – Janet A. (Boulay) Mercon, 64, of Riverview, FL formerly of Worcester died on Monday, August 22nd in Tampa General Hospital surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Mercon is survived by her husband of 46 years Steven P. Mercon; a son Sean P. Mercon of Riverview, FL; three daughters Michele M. Green and her husband Eric of Apollo Beach, FL, Lauri A. Pella and her husband Roy of Worcester, MA and Kelley A. Sorensen and her husband Michael Sr. of Coral Springs, FL; a brother Edward Boulay of Westerly, RI, 7 grandchildren - Ryan Alvarado-Mercon, Mikaela Green, Michael Green, Michael Sorensen Jr., Emma Sorensen, Gabrielle Mercon & Noelle Mercon as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family & friends.
Janet was born in Worcester, MA daughter of the late George F. and Beatrice R. (Gamlin) Boulay and is a graduate of the David Hale Fanning Trade High School. She worked for over 25 years as a catering manager for the Paul Revere Insurance Company and then for the Aramark Food Corporation.
Janet’s greatest love in life was her family. Whether it was hanging out together at home, celebrating holidays, or going on family trips, her smile was the brightest when they were around.
Janet’s life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by her understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives.
Family and friends are invited to the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. Worcester between 9 and 11 AM on Saturday, August 27th for calling hours. A funeral service will follow at 11 AM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society 30 Speen Street Framingham, MA 01701.
