WEBSTER - Albert L. LaFountain, 84, of Webster, died Tuesday, August 23, 2011 in Harrington Memorial Hospital, Southbridge. His wife of 27 years, Lucille R. (Girard) LaFountain, died in 2008.
He leaves a son, John F. LaFountain of Dayville, CT; 2 daughters, Norma L. Collins of Webster and Katherine J. Haseley and her husband Mark of Panama City, FL; several grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; nephews and nieces, including his niece and caregiver Doreen R. Austin and her fiancé Albert M. Leite of Charlton. He was preceded in death by 4 brothers and a sister.
He was born and raised in Dudley, the son of Freeman and Rose (Fontaine) LaFountain and lived in Webster for most of his life.
He was an Army veteran of World War II.
Mr. LaFountain was a printer at Cranston Print Works Company for 35 years before he retired in 1978.
No funeral services are planned. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main St., Webster.
