Gillis --- Joseph A. of Dedham formerly of Hyde Park and Jamaica Plain, August 23, 2011. Beloved husband of the late Bennetta “Nita” (Failla) Gillis. Loving father of Nancy M. Lemieux of Meredith, NH; and Joseph Gillis of Columbia, MD. Devoted grandfather of Michael Gillis, Jonathan Gillis, Andrew Lemieux and Lori-Ann Lemieux. Great grandfather of Braylen Parker Gillis. Loving brother of John E Gillis and the late Louis J. Gillis, Catherine M. Rider, Ethel M. Lamontagne and Eleanor M. McCarthy. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Robert J. Lawler and Crosby Funeral Home 1803 Centre St. West Roxbury on Friday Aug. 26th at 9:00am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Holy Name church at 10:00am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours in the funeral home on Thursday from 4:00 – 7:00pm. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery.
Late Navy Veteran WWII, Retired Civil Engineer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Joe was a member of the Lions Club and the American Legion Post 18, Dedham.
