Downs, Richard Gene, 56, of Louisville passed away August 21, 2011 at University Hospital. He was the owner and operator for Assured Auto Care, member of the Patriot Guard and Christian Motorcycle Association (CMA). He attended Power of the Cross Church.
He is preceded in death by his father, Joseph Downs; mother-in-law, Christine Vandiver; and nephew, Little JoJo “His Peeps”.
Survivors include his wife, Patty Downs; children, Chad Downs and wife, Michelle and Nicki Downs and fiancé, Michael Renck; mother, Mayme Downs; grandchildren, Alex, Elizabeth, and Julia; brother, Michael Downs (Tonya); sisters, Joetta Downs and Veronica Bendixen (David); father-in-law, Richard Cravens; numerous nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law; and his dog, Sadie.
Funeral service will be 4pm Friday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with cremation to follow. Visitation will be Wednesday 1pm-9pm, Thursday 9am-9pm, and Friday 9am until the service at 4.
