WAYLAND: Mary C. (Gould) Doucette, 90, died peacefully in the care and comfort of her family on Saturday, August 20, 2011 following a period of declining health.
She was born in Dorchester on January 18, 1921 the daughter of the late Thomas and Annie Gould.
Mrs. Doucette was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She is survived by her son Joseph A. Doucette, Jr. and his late wife Judy and their children Joseph Doucette and his wife Debbie of Framingham, John Doucette and his wife Keri of Grafton, Jodi Moylan and her husband Tom of Charleston, S.C., Joy Doucette of Framingham, Jason Doucette of Framingham, Jaime Maglione and her husband Chip of Charleston, S.C., Justin Doucette and his wife Kathleen of Marlborough, Joshua Doucette and his wife Melissa of Framingham, Jeffrey Doucette of Framingham, James Doucette of Framingham, and the late Jill Doucette; her late son Robert Doucette and his wife Shin Doucette and their son Robert Doucette, Jr., both of Newton, a daughter Bette-Anne Custodio and her husband Jim of Fort Wayne, IN and their children Nicole Oyler and her husband Nate, Brian Custodio and his wife Sabra and Kevin Custodio all of Fort Wayne, IN, her son Richard Doucette and his wife Pamela of Framingham and her daughter Diane Smith and her husband Vincent and their children Kathleen A. Smith, Kimberly B. Smith and Vincent Smith, Jr. all of Wayland. Also survived by 7 great-grandchildren.
Mary has been a resident of Wayland for the past 8 years and previously resided in Natick for over 64 years. She spent her formative years in Waltham and graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Waltham. In her earlier years she was an assembler with the Waltham Watch Company. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother to her family and will be greatly missed by all of those who loved her. She enjoyed crocheting, was a wonderful baker and candy maker, especially her famous fudge. Mary also enjoyed playing cards and going to bingo in the local area. Her greatest gift and accomplishment was the love of her family and spending time with her grandchildren.
Visitations will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2011 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Route 30), Wayland.
Family and friends are invited to her funeral service in the Bryant Memorial Chapel of the funeral home on Thursday, August 25, 2011 at 10:00 am.
Interment will follow in the Doucette family lot in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Natick.
