Obituary

GLOUCESTER: Rose P. (Frontiero) Catalini, 83, of 53 Taylor Street died Sunday, August 21, 2011 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers surrounded by family and friends. She was the beloved wife of the late William P. Catalini, who died in January of 1985.
Born in Gloucester on June 29, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Philomena (Pallazola) Frontiero. She was a lifelong resident and had attended Gloucester public schools.
Rose was employed by Gorton’s of Gloucester for twenty-one years, having retired in 1994. Her life was filled with many wonderful memories. Among her most special memories, was attending childhood dances with her two dearest friends, Mary Reis and Katie Mitchell. Rose was a gentle, kind-hearted mother to all and will be greatly missed.
She is survived by two daughters, Christine, wife of James "Duke" Donnellon and Petrina, wife of Michael A. Francis; and her son, Louis Catalini, six grandchildren, Shamus P. Donnellon, companion of Karen Longo, Dawn Marie Catalini, companion of T.J. Brown, Toni Lee Catalini, Michael A., Jr., husband Rosa M. Francis, William "Billy" Catalini and Matthew Catalini; and two great-grandsons, Michael A. Francis, III and Isaiah J. Francis, "her precious elf coin kings." She is also survived by three sisters, Antoinette Pallazola, Sally, wife of Eugene Killey and Mary Jo Frontiero and two brothers, Anthony, husband of Marjorie Frontiero and Joseph "Gap" husband of Judy Frontiera, her daughter-in-law, Melinda Catalini, former daughter-in-law, Joanne Catalini, sister-in-law, Adelle Catalini; brother-in-law, Angus Hinckley, as well as many wonderful nieces, nephews and close friends whom she adored. She was also predeceased by two sons, William P. "Wink" Catalini, Jr. and Anthony D. Catalini; three sisters, Annie Amero, Florence and her husband, Elliott Collins, and Madeline Hinckley; three sisters-in-law, Gladys Mitchell, Margo Lopez and Nancy Frontiera; and brothers-in-law, Dominic Pallazola, Albert Catalini and Ralph Lopez.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday morning in the Holy Family Parish, St. Ann Church at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. There are no visiting hours. Interment will be held in the Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Hospice of the North Shore, 75 Sylvan St., Suite B-102, Danvers, MA 01923.
