Obituary

Conrad L. “Muchy” Mucciarone 72, a lifelong town resident, died Friday August 19, 2011 at Norwood Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Judith A. (Holmes) Mucciarone, for 48 years.
Born in Franklin, January 25, 1939, a son of the late Felix A. “Tony” Mucciarone and Adrienne C. (Lavasseur) Mucciarone, he was raised and educated in local schools, and was a 1956 graduate of Franklin High School.
In June 1969, Conrad received certification by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a Dispensing Optician and in October 1972, Conrad earned board certification by the American Board of Opticianry as a Certified Optician. In his early career, he worked as an Optician for many years primarily at the former Trinity Optical in Framingham. Later, he worked for the Town of Franklin Department of Public Works Water Department for many years until retiring in 2001.
Conrad proudly served in the United States Navy from July 1956 until December 1959. He attained the rank of TM/2nd class, and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal.
He was a former member of Sacred Heart Council Knights of Columbus, the Franklin Rod & Gun Club, and loved camping, the outdoors, and landscaping.
Surviving in addition to his wife are 2 sons; Paul C. of South Boston, and Gary J. Mucciarone of Chicago, a daughter Marcia A. Blanchard of Franklin, a brother Albert Mucciarone of Maryland, 3 sisters; Shirley Martello of Franklin, Pauline Vidito of Leicester, MA, and Jacqueline McKenney of Lahaina, Hawaii.
He was the loving grandfather and Papa, to James Newton Blanchard V, and Carly Jaymes Blanchard.
He is also the brother of the late Phyllis Masi and Sharon Souza.
Conrad was blessed with a loyal family and his life was richly filled with many great friendships. Up until the bitter end, Conrad was jovial and reminisced about many memorable events in the company of wonderful friends and family.
To all of you who had the opportunity to share in those good times, the family extends thier gratitude and hopes that those memories of Conrad stay close in your heart. Think of hime often and smile.
Relatives and friend are invited to attend his funeral with military honors, Thursday August 25th, at 9:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri & Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. FRANKLIN, www.oterifuneralhome.com, with a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church 1 Church Sq. at 10AM.
Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
