Obituary

HAVERHILL: Paul F. Bourdon, Jr., 80, died on August 18, 2011 in the Baker Katz Nursing Home in Haverhill.
Born in Haverhill on July 10, 1931, he was the son of the late Paul F. and Yvonne (Sequin) Bourdon. A lifelong resident of Haverhill, he attended St. Joseph’s Elementary School and was a graduate of the former Haverhill Trade School. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy on April 9, 1951 and was honorably discharged on April 5, 1955.
Paul was employed for several years with the Aramark Food Corporation in the food service department working out of the Phillips Academy in Andover. Earlier in his career he worked as an upholster for Brentwood Furniture in Haverhill.
In his spare time Paul loved to gain knowledge in regards to different cultures in the world. He especially was interested in Australia and had hoped to travel there one day. As a resident of the Baker Katz Nursing Home he embraced his surroundings and made a life there for himself. Paul became quite active with the daily activities and enjoyed his friendships with the residents as well as the staff. He also cherished the time he spent with his children and grandchildren. He will be remembered with much love by all who knew him.
He is survived by his daughter, Judith and her husband, John Schmidt of Chicago, IL; a son, Bruce and his wife, Robin Bourdon of Wilton, NH; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Schmidt of Chicago, IL and Jamie and Jake Bourdon both of Wilton, NH; a sister, Pauline Lagasse of Haverhill; a brother, Ted Bourdon of Florida and several nieces and nephews. He was also predeceased by his sister, Claire Hussey of Maine.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday in the Linnehan-Grondin Funeral Home, 129 Kenoza Ave., Haverhill from 11 – 1 p.m. followed by interment with military honors in the Linwood Cemetery in Haverhill.
