SALEM- Joseph C. DiMambro, age 80, husband of the late Gloria P. (Serianni) DiMambro, of Salem, died Monday, February 16, 2004 at the Rosewood Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Peabody, following a long illness.
Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Louis and Maria (Cornacchia) DiMambro and was a lifelong resident of the city.
Mr. DiMambro was employed as a route driver for the former Salem Laundry until its closing. He later worked as a manager of the Shell Gas Station on Endicott Street in Danvers until his retirement in the mid 1980's due to illness.
He was a history buff and enjoyed golf, travel to Italy, and reading.
He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Louis and Jane DiMambro of Salem, two grandchildren, Christopher DiMambro of Quincy, Tracy DiMambro of Mount Rainier, Maryland, one great granddaughter, Haven DiMambro of Quincy, two brothers ans sisters-in-law, Dante and Jane DiMambro of Flint, Texas, Anthony and Shirley Dee of Fairfax, Virginia, two sisters, Flora and her husband Joseph Tina of Salem, Elsa Fiske of Salem, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one the brother, Roger DiMambro and one sister, Alexsandra Femino.
His funeral service will be held Saturday, February 21, 2004 at 8 am from the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem, followed by a funeral Mas at 9 am at Ste. Anne’s Church, Salem. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Friday, 4 to 8 pm. Burial is in St Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
